Happy wid-week [already]!
It feels like now that spring and summer are here, time is flying by faster than ever. But life is good!
The Local Road Tour
I saw via Twitter on Sunday morning there was going to be an event going on at Whole Foods in the afternoon, and we needed some groceries anyways so we decided to check it out. There was about 30 different local food producers with samples, goodies, and all that fun stuff!
We got there at the tail end of the event so a lot of people were kind of packing up, but I always like local food + samples!
And then it was time for food! The strawberries were especially delicious.
The weather was beautiful on Sunday, and it was fun to just sit and soak up the sun!
Local Bucha
One of the highlights of our Whole Foods trip was getting some local kombucha. LocalBucha is a local Kansas City product from Get Real Food Company, a collaboration between Sean Henry and Benjamin Topel.
We’ve been getting their SodaVie soda and kombucha at BADSEED farmers market, but their kombucha is sold on tap at Whole Foods and we couldn’t pass it up while we were there.
They have amazing flavors, and use only real, fresh ingredients in all their products. There’s not a flavor of their kombucha or soda that we haven’t loved!
They’re so flavorful, and delicious but not overpoweringly sweet and the unique ingredients really come through in the most perfect way.
Sean happened to be at Whole Foods with a kombucha sampling, and that’s him filling our new growler:
The kombucha flavors on tap at Whole Foods rotate, and currently the flavors are Pineapple Cilantro, Thai Basil, and Elderberry Grape. (Uhm, yeah, don’t they all sound delicious? They are!)
For complete information on how they make their kombucha, you can check out their website. We got a 64 oz growler, and I love that we can just take our growler back and get it refilled.
I love all of Kansas City’s great local food producers, and my life in terms of food is certainly more complete with local kombucha!
